Mares in the run-up to Christmas
The run-up to Christmas – the time when ginger biscuits and marzipan taste their best, we have fun baking cookies and the town is filled with the aroma of roasted almonds.
A time for enjoying the company of friends and helping those less fortunate than ourselves. The Christmas magic has also arrived at Mares. In our warehouse, staff can wonder at the purple and gold bedecked Christmas tree, Advent floral arrangements create a welcoming atmosphere in our office, parcels are wrapped and Christmas cards written. Our staff use their breaks to hurry to Mönckebergstraße to buy the last of their presents. And as every year, we’re also delighting our sponsored children in Peru, Senegal and China, by sending Christmas gifts. Even before the first day of Advent, we met up at Fleetinsel Christmas market between Stadthausbrücke and Rödingsmarkt, right next to our office, to get into the festive spirit. On Friday evening, we ushered in the weekend with mulled wine and friying sausage. The Fleetinsel Lounge was an ideal place to chat, away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market and without our feet getting cold. And now we’re counting down the days until our Christmas party, which is always a particular highlight.
