Mares breaks “less than two hours mark” at the Mopo relay race

The B2 run took place just seven weeks ago and already our sports enthusiast colleagues were racing down the track again. august-119-225x300IMG_2093-300x225Mares employees have already taken part in the Mopo team relay race eight times and have demonstrated their solidarity. With 5 teams each with 5 runners this time we entered the starting blocks. As with previous years we had our own Mares marquee in which we provided and refreshed our runners with cold drinks and a tasty grilled buffet. Again we invited family members and friends to join us for the BBQ and cheer on our runners.

Despite the bad weather and showers everyone was in a good mood and anticipating the race. As the starter signal fired at 17:35 for our first runner there was great excitement. Each of the 5 team members handed over the baton to the person behind them over a 5km track through the Hamburg city park. Reaching their limits was difficult yesterday as marshals cheered on the runners along the whole track. The last kilometre was accompanied by cries, applause and drums and colleagues awaited the runners and duly cheered them on in the home straight.

We thank our colleagues for their dedication and are really proud of our fastest team who have broke the “less than two hours mark” for the first time.
